| Details | We offer an affordable destination for a family vacation, fisherman's getaway or to just enjoy the abundant wildlife. We have several cottages over the water and none more than 150 feet from the water. Nestled in a protected bay with safe swimming and a small sandy beach, we offer 1, 2, 3 & 5 bedroom self-catering cottages in an idyllic setting overlooking the islands. Each cottage has a well-equipped kitchen including refrigerator, electric range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and all the pots, pans and dishes you should need. We also have full-sized gas barbeques (propane included) for each cottage.
We offer boat rentals for fishing, bird watching and sightseeing to both cottage guests and day visitors. Canoe and paddle boats are free to cottage renters on an as-available basis.
You will definitely run out of time before they run out of things to do. There is an endless amount of tourist attractions near Plank Road Cottages and Marina including, trails, golfing, art galleries, museums, trails, hiking, zoo, cross country skiing, snowmobile trails, biking, cycling trails, shopping, boat lift locks, boat cruises.
Town of Cobourg
Nestled in the rolling hills of Northumberland and situated on the shoreline of Lake Ontario, the historic Town of Cobourg is one of the prettiest Towns in the Province, just less than 15 minutes south of Plank Road Cottages.
Explore museums, take in a live performance theatre, join in a lakeside festival or just wander about the lovely boardwalk. Heritage homes are in abundance, as are pristine beaches, parks and hiking trails.
Cobourg Beach is a beach-lovers’ paradise. There’s a snack bar and the trees and gardens of Victoria Park for a picnic. The park in the evenings has live entertainment at the old-fashioned bandshell. There are theatre performances, movie screenings and the big band music of the Cobourg .
